Proper care helps maintain the structure, appearance and comfort of your suit over time. Follow these general recommendations to keep your garments looking their best.

After Wearing

Avoid wearing the same suit on consecutive days whenever possible. Allow the fabric time to rest and recover its natural shape.

After wearing:

  • Hang the jacket on a wide, structured hanger.
  • Empty the pockets to prevent unnecessary pulling.
  • Lightly brush away surface dust or lint.
  • Allow the garment to air naturally before storing.

Hanging Your Suit

Use a broad-shouldered suit hanger that supports the natural shape of the jacket.

Avoid thin wire hangers, as they may distort the shoulders over time.

Trousers should be hung using a trouser hanger or folded carefully along the natural crease.

Cleaning

Always check the care label attached to your garment before cleaning.

Many structured suits are best professionally dry-cleaned. Frequent dry cleaning, however, may place unnecessary stress on fabrics, so we recommend cleaning only when required.

For minor dust or surface marks, gentle spot cleaning or brushing may be sufficient.

Steaming & Wrinkles

A garment steamer can help remove light wrinkles and refresh the fabric between wears.

When steaming:

  • Keep the steamer a short distance from the fabric.
  • Avoid excessive heat.
  • Allow the garment to dry completely before wearing or storing.

If ironing is permitted by the garment care label, use a low or appropriate heat setting and place a clean pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric.

Suit Trousers

To maintain the trouser shape:

  • Hang trousers along their natural crease.
  • Avoid overfilling pockets.
  • Remove belts before long-term storage.
  • Steam lightly when necessary.

Minor tailoring or pressing may help maintain a clean, structured appearance.

Waistcoats

For three-piece suits, waistcoats should also be stored on suitable hangers whenever possible.

Avoid leaving the waistcoat tightly buttoned during storage, as this may place unnecessary tension on the fabric and buttons.

Long-Term Storage

Before storing a suit for an extended period:

  1. Make sure the garment is completely clean and dry.
  2. Use a breathable garment bag.
  3. Store it in a cool, dry location.
  4. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
  5. Leave enough space around the garment to prevent compression.

Avoid fully sealed plastic storage bags for long periods, as breathable storage is generally better for tailored garments.

Fabric Care

Different materials require different levels of care.

Wool & Wool Blends
Allow the fabric to rest between wears and avoid excessive washing.

Polyester & Blended Fabrics
Generally durable and easier to maintain, but high temperatures should still be avoided.

Linen Blends
Natural creasing is part of the character of linen. Light steaming can help refresh the garment.

Velvet or Delicate Fabrics
Extra care may be required. Avoid pressing directly onto the surface and follow the individual care label carefully.

Protecting the Shape

Avoid placing heavy objects in jacket pockets, as this can alter the shape of the garment.

When sitting for extended periods, unbuttoning the jacket can reduce tension around the waist and buttons.

When travelling, fold the jacket carefully or use a dedicated suit carrier.

Important Care Information

Care requirements may vary between individual products depending on fabric composition, lining, construction and decorative details.

The care label attached to the garment should always take priority over general recommendations provided on this page.

If you are unsure about cleaning or caring for a particular garment, we recommend consulting a professional garment care service.
